Working out: Would be the first choice to treat knee pain if it secondary to decreased activity. We are assuming there is nothing mechanical wrong with the knee such as a meniscal tear which could come from trauma. Any exercise program will need to be started slowly such as walking or riding a bicycle for short periods and increasing slowly. Stretching also is extremely important after being sedentary.
