Yes: While a dry socket, or localized osteitis, usually occurs on the 3rd-5th days after wisdom teeth are removed, one can occur a few days later. If you're in pain, and it's not relieved by pain medicine, see your oral surgeon for a postoperative evaluation and treatment of the dry socket. Good luck!
