A member asked:

Can you get a dry socket a week after wisdom teeth were pulled?

Yes: While a dry socket, or localized osteitis, usually occurs on the 3rd-5th days after wisdom teeth are removed, one can occur a few days later. If you're in pain, and it's not relieved by pain medicine, see your oral surgeon for a postoperative evaluation and treatment of the dry socket. Good luck!

Yes: Dry socket (osteitis) following removal of wisdom teeth occurs approximately 5-10%. More common on lower wisdom teeth.
