If you look at the : Laser beam. That's why you wear protective suntan goggles or wavelength-specific glasses with side and top shields. You can't have laser hair removal near the eyes without special stainless eye shields like huge contact lenses. But for the underarm, just wear your goggles and don't look at the beam. If you peeked, there could be potential damage; see ophthalmologist for evaluation.
