Depends: If you are a cavity prone patient, then i would get them. If not, no.

Deep Fissure Sealant: If you have deep pits and fissures (grooves) in your molars and premolars, then dental sealants may prevent future decay. If you have significant stains in the fissures, then diagnodent dental laser can help to distinguish between stain (which should be removed and sealed) or decay which will require cavity preparation and filling.

If indicated: Your dentist can advise you whether you are prone to dental decay in those areas and whether sealants will be helpful to you.

Usually: Dental sealants help reduce the risk of developing cavities on the biting surfaces of teeth. So, it would help prevent decay to have them placed.
