Cellulitis: A second degree burn can become infected as the skin is damaged. And will allow bacterial infections. One must perform take oral antibiotics and apply an antibiotic crime to achieve a healing non infected wound.

Can happen: This does not happen often but can be treated with topical medications - polysporin, (bacitracin and polymyxin) Bacitracin etc. Cleaning the skin is important. It is also smart to see a doctor if the skin is red and painful.
