Possibly: Some early treatment for carpal tunnel syndrome include splint, nsaids and steroid injections. These may be difficult while in the army. You may want to have an evaluation by a hand surgeon prior to entering the army to determine the best treatment options.

Yes: More than likely if you have carpal tunnel, it usually will get worse without treatment. Anything that will increase activity with hand use (and I am presuming you won't be limited in activities) will increase pressure on median nerve and either not resolve your symptoms or make them worse.
