Autonomic system: You should have it checked to be in the safe side, such as having a physical and mri. However, this can be sign of overstimulation of your brain by pain. This is called central sensitization and when it affectsvsome types of nerve fibers known as autonomic fibers swelling might happen, but it must be always felt or seen in the same side as you are having the pain.
