It may, but results : Are so far inconclusive. One study tested 18 people and found statistically fewer openings of the esophageal sphincter, but the same study reviewed in a pro-medical marijuana journal found that one hour after taking it, the amount of acid that made its way into the esophagus was no different than with the medical marijuana. Therefore, results remain inconclusive.
