You see, there are many factors in considering which medication to treat your uti-if you are pregnant we would not want to give you cipro, (ciprofloxacin) and could chose Azithromycin or amoxicillin. Cipro (ciprofloxacin) is a good choice for non-pregnant females who are not allergic to it because it tends to have less resistance.

Cipro (ciprofloxacin): Cipro (ciprofloxacin) would have a better chance of curing a UTI than would Azithromycin which is less active against gram negative enteric bacteria and does not achieve high levels in the urine.
