Don't self medicate: Your dentist, after evaluating your condition, will give you a prescription for the proper antibiotics and dosage. You don't even know if you have an abscess... Antibiotics are not painkillers.

No antibiotic: Will cure a tooth ache. Antibiotics are for bacterial infections. If you have a toothache, see a dentist. Your dentist can provide you with proper treatment and the right type and dosage of an antibiotic if necessary.

Depends: It depends of the cause of the tooth ache. If the tooth ache is due to an infection then the usual dose is 500 mg amoxil (amoxicillin). However, there are many other causes of tooth ache. See a dentist for a consultation. Good luck.
