Many possibilities: Some causes of painful “lumps and bumps” may include: bony overgrowths, soft tissue masses, ganglions, fibromas, and cysts. Have it evaluated by a professional to get the right diagnosis.

Further work up: See a podiatrist. It may be a plantar fibroma but could also be many other possibilities. It can be evaluated with xray and/or ultrasound as well as with thorough history and exam. Depending on the cause the treatment varies.
