Itching: First if it is the scars that are itching and they are raised you may benefit from steroid treatment. You should use silicone sheeting at this point and a moisturizer for the skin.

You could also: Try a non-sedating anti-histamine (claritin, etc.) to help with the symptoms.

Depends: If it related to an allergic reaction, then the source must be removed. This may be the surgical tape, steristrips, antibiotic ointment or even one of the medications that you are taking.
