See Psychiatrist: Xanax (alprazolam) is a good medication, but it is not always appropriate for anxiety. There may be other things going on that are metabolic, or you may respond to other anti-anxiety medications better. You may need to make adjustments to stress in your life. You also want to avoid the xanax (alprazolam) roller coaster and potential for addiction.

ER not the place: Er docs are not psychiatrists or even primary care doctors who could appropriately treat your disorder. They gave you a few xanax (alprazolam) to get you through the night. That's what they do. You need to then, the very next day, get set up to see someone - best a psychiatrist - who can diagnose and long term treat your symptoms. Don't rely on the er to do that. Take charge of your life - don't blame the er!

Anxiety: Anxiety in itself does not kill anyone. Meet with a mental health professional to come up with definitive plan to treat your anxiety.
