Identify the cause: What occurs first? If you develop a fast heart rate first and then become anxious, the anxiety is secondary and not your primary problem. Need to establish the cause of the fast heart rate. A cardiac event monitor can be useful. If you become anxious or develop unexplained fear/nervousness and then develop a fast heart rate, Alprazolam may help, but seek care from a psychologist.
