Heart rate: A relatively rapid rate will not cause valve leakage if the valve isn't anatomically predisposed to the leakage.

Tachycardia : Prolonged rapid heart rate is not associated with progression of valve leakage, however has been associated with weakening of the heart muscle. If abnormally fast, the cause should be investigated and be treated.
