Stop GERD: Reflux causes barrett's, so doing everything you can to stop reflux is key. Avoid caffeine, limit alcohol, lose weight, have a hiatal hernia repaired if you have one. Also of key importance: go back for biopsies as you are instructed. I recommend against anti-reflux pills for barrett's sufferers, as they only make the reflux more comfortable while it injures your esophagus.

Monitor closely: Barret's esophagus needs to be moniotored closely with endoscopic surveilance. A board certified gastroenterologist will be necessary to ensure that barret's does not transition into cancer. Treatment recommended is generally suppression of acid with a proton pump inhibitor.
