A member asked:

Can copd cause low hematocrit?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

COPD -Hematocrit: COPD typically either leaves hematocrit normal or increases it due to the severity of COPD causing low oxygen over the long run, making the red blood cells multiply to compensate for that. A low hematocrit is something seen either in several diagnoses of anemia or with old age along with other geriatric "disturbances".
