Medication: No matter where gout occurs you usually need medication and likely a change of diet. Gout is caused by either too much uric acid in the body or inability of body to rid itself through the kidneys of excess uric acid. You need to see a pcp, podiatrist or rheumatologist for evaluation and treatment recommendations.
