A bit confusing: Have you been diagnosed with diabetes ? If the bladder infection was only for a week , I do not think that is unusual . If you get them every week that is another matter

UTI: High blood sugars don't cause bladder infections per se. However, uncontrolled sugars can increase your risk. Back pain in addition to frequent urgent painful urination suggests kidney infection. Best to go see your family doctor & get evaluated for UTI (bladder vs kidney infection) as well as cause of high sugars (diabetes?).
