HIV and testosterone: Low testosterone levels are more common in men with HIV than in the general population. The finding particularly applies to men between the ages of 40 and 59 years old. Whether it is related to therapy is unclear, and whether replacement is necessary is also not entirely clear. See a clinical psychologist with HIV expertise. You should not feel hopeless. Good luck and best wishes.

HIV &Testosterone: Yes and no. The bigger problem i see in my HIV positive patients is their substance abuse and the over use of anabolic steroids. If you are avoiding all other hormone blocking substances or supplements then at 26 this is not something i would be that concerned about. I begin testing my HIV positive guys at least once their first year of infection and then after forty I do this regularly.
