Fluoxetine: Some (not all) people notice a dulling of emotions with ssri's, but this may be preferable to intense symptoms of depression. Prozac (fluoxetine) and its relatives manage the deeply painful symptoms of depression so that you can live your life and do psychotherapeutic work too. Possible apathetic responses may be dose-related. Your doctor may be able to adjust this if you tell him/her what you feel.
