Yes: Cigarettes cause increased inflamation and vasoconstriction, can contribute to increasing back pain. Studies show cigarettes increase pain sensitivity, decrease healing. Alcohol is a toxin and dehydrates you as well, both can cause increase in back pain. However, you should not have long term back pain at 21 and if no workup yet, consider workup. If low back pain, ask about ankylosing spondylitis.
