A member asked:

Is the cecocolic junction an anatomical valve or some sort of physical separation between the cecum and the colon or is it just a location?

Ascertain your terms: The ileocecal valve is the junction between the small and large intestine and is an anatomical landmark.

Iliocecal valve: There's a valve between ilium and cecum. Cecum is first part of large intestine. No separation there.
