No: There should be no swelling after 2 weeks following a root canal. I would recommend returning to the dentist who performed the treatment.

Longer then typical: Swelling after root canal is not rare, especially if you started off swollen. However, two weeks seems to be a long time. You should call your dentist and have them evaluate. You may need to have it cleaned out again or possibly be place on an anti-biotic.

May be normal: Depending of the infection (history, time, previous root canal, gum disease, complexity of the root canal, etc, etc patients may have symptoms including swelling for some days after rct is done. However swelling 2 weeks after does not look good. Go back to your dentist and if he can't help ask to be referred to an endodontist.

NO: Swelling is the body's reaction to infection. If two weeks post operatively there is swelling, then there is a residual infection.
