Not really: Once a root canal treatment is completed you are not supposed to have any more pain or swelling although some discomfort can be expected, it is possible that there may be another reason for the swelling but only your dentist can tell. Ask your dentist to check it out.

Possibly : possibly over manipulation of the canal, but could residual infection or simply the the original infection not yet responding to treatment yet. time to see you DDS.

See your dentist: It is normal to feel slightly tenderness in the area for a couple days after your root canal treatment as your body undergoes the natural healing process and possible over-instrumentation. Contact your dentist right away if you develop a visible swelling.
