Months: Their are a variety of heel fractures. The long term prognosis depends on how well it could be put back together, patient's ability to heal and whether it was into the joint. If all goes well, most discomfort will resolve in 4-6 months. If the fracture is severe and/or into the joint, there will likely be some permanent, residual discomfort. Discuss with your surgeon.
