Six weeks if...: Assuming that you are doing "something" to have normal gums, wait around six weeks and see if the problem went away. Otherwise go back to your doctor for review or change of treatment/ if you are not under treatment, go to see a dentist asap.

Swollen: From what cause? More information needed however after deep cleaning 2-6 wks, gum surgery 6 wks, allergy depends but 1-2 wks.
