Thanks for asking!: Antibiotics only help your immune system. Amoxicillin will start helping control the infected area in about 4 days and will not cure the abcess. Root canal therapy or extraction is the best treatment for abcessed teeth.

24-36 hrs: It should take around 24-36 hours for the pain of an abscessed tooth to get better. If things are not better in that time frame you should go back to your dentist.
