See your DDS: A dental abscess is a bacteria infection caused by a variety of different bacteria. Antibiotic therapy may only be part of the solution. To determine the dosage for the antibiotic one must know which drug will be most effective for the specific bacteria. I suggest you see your dentist for a comprehensive examination so that the appropriate treatment be applied.

Depends: Depends on how severe the abscess is. The usual dose is 500 mg every 8 hours. However, you need to see your dentist for an evaluation and treatment first.
