How long does it take for your gums to heal after wisdom teeth extractions?

Depends: People have different healing ability. General health status and difficulty level of extraction affect the healing speed. Averagely, your gum in extraction area need 5-7 days to cover and close the opeing of extraction socket. But total healing needs up to 1 year after extraction; however, 90% of healing will be done in 6 monthes.

That depends: For most people the majority of the healing is completed in the first 5-6 days if you smoke or drink alcohol this will take longer. In rare cases dry socket can develop. This condition can take 2-3 weeks to heal. Following the care instructions of your oral surgeon greatly reduces the chance of developing dry socket.
