Stress fracture: The foot must be immobilized with limited activity for a period of 4-6 weeks. Use of ice and NSAID therapy is recommended.

Depends on what bone: Depending on which bone is fractured and how badly it is fractured. Sometimes staying off completely until it heals, sometimes wearing a stiff shoe or fracture boot so you do not bend foot when walking will work. You need to talk to a podiatrist or orthopedist.
