Yes: Hi. Yes, insulin is as safe in pregnancy as any other time. The one big inherent risk with insulin is hypoglycemia. The risk of hypoglycemia is, of course, present using insulin in pregnancy as it is in non-pregnant patients. Go over your goal BG range and BG testing protocol with your doc running your diabetes during the pregnancy. To your tight control! Be safe. Good luck with the pregnancy.
