Don't give up!: The rewards of good blood sugar control is feeling better, and prevention of many serious complications! Your blood sugar at 4mmol/l is great, but 15 is too high, and can cause long term complications. You may need more help from a diabetes educator about how to increase insulin without risk of too low blood sugar. Please ask your doctor for more help and support for controlling your sugars.

Hang in there!: Diabetes treatment can be really frustrating (and confusing). There are so many variables. Good, even control of your sugar levels is the key to feeling well & avoiding complications. There is evidence that large swings in sugar control can affect people's mood & wellbeing. If you find sugar control during the day difficult then seeing a dietician might be helpful. Your GP can refer you.Good luck!

Insulin: You need to maintain a record of your bel for a week or so. Not sure what insulin are you taking but basal dose of lantus is good idea as it is long acting and the variation will be less. this can be topped up with intermediate acting insulin depending on your BGL. discuss with doctor. get referred to a diabetic educator or specialist if not getting on to of things. don't stop the insulin by your.
