A member asked:

3yrs ago had gd in pregnancy with great glucose numbers, lower side always.while breastfeeing hypoglycemia without syptoms.is it insulin resistance?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Gestational diabetes: The tendency for "GD" to occur in pregnancy can be a predictor of later onset of Type 2 diabetes. Hypoglycemia is of course lower blood glucose levels, and "insulin resistance" is a condition which promotes hyperglycemia (increased blood glucose levels). In the future, with a history of "GD", make sure to reduce carbs, exercise and control your weight to avoid onset of Type 2 diabetes.
