Wrist pain: Gloves and/or braces may help decrease your symptoms and allow for your same level of activity. If these do not alleviate your symptoms, you may need an evaluation by an orthopedist.

They may be helpful!: Gloves may give additional support and improve tolerance of exercise. Pretreatment with a dose of an analgesic prior to exercise may also be helpful (acetaminophen 1000mg 1-2 hours prior to weight-training), as well as warming the uncomfortable joints.

Wrist arthritis: The arthritis of thumbs and wrists can become more symptomatic due to repetitive positioning of the wrist and pincher movement of the thumb. Modifying positioning of wrist and hands can help, splints for your thumb(medigrip) can help. This use of topical antiinflammatories such as voltaren (diclofenac) gel can help as well. Variablity in work out program can also help.
