Parathyroid : Parathyroid is one of the essential endocrine glands that produce a hormone called parathormone regulates calcium metabolism. Parathyroid glands are four in number, by the side of thyroid gland in the neck. They are no where near lung or heart.

Not sure: You must be referring to thyroid gland which is normally in neck and have parathyroid glands under that, sometimes a pt can have retrosternal thyroid in chest mostly in superior mediastinum.
