Arthrofibrosis: What you describe sounds like arthrofibrosis. This is a painful condition that develops after knee replacement from excessive scarring. Sometimes this condition may occur in isolation, but arthrofibrosis may also occur when there is failure of ingrowth of an uncemented prosthesis, lumbar radiculopathy, complex regional pain syndrome, or occult postoperative infection. Follow up with your doctor to rule out these other conditions.
