See an eye doctor: All new floaters require a dilated retinal exam by an eye doctor to make sure you do not have a possible retinal problem. You should go sooner rather than later.

Floaters to look for: Floaters are usually nothing to worry about -- most people have some. But they can be a sign of inflammation in the eye or sometimes a sign of a retinal tear. If they are worsening or associated with lightning-like flashes of light then they should be checked out. Or if you are seeing lights in the center of your vision with floaters, that should be checked by an ophthalmologist as well.
