Echo: An echocardiogram alone shows muscle function, valve function , and whether the valves are leaking or tight. It does not tell you if you have blocked arteries. If you combine it with a stress test it can tell if you have blockage. A plain normal echo does not mean you can't have a heart attack.

Lacunes: Many people will have no symptoms from lacunar infarcts. However, ultimately symptoms depend on the location of any such strokes.
