Embrace the positive, as she did survive the acute infection which could easily have been deadly. She is going to need extensive rehabilitation, but at her age, substantial recovery is possible. A combination of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and perhaps speech therapy can all help. This will involve many months of intervention, and your support will be valuable. Hope for the best.
