A member asked:

What could be the problem if you blow your nose and the mucus comes with traces of blood?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Bloody mucus: Depends on the amount of blood. If just trace amounts then likely is due to your nose being dry and irritated, so when the crusted mucus is expelled it can irritate the small capillaries, leading to some blood. Try a little saline nasal spray or white petroleum jelly into the nose.
