A member asked:

Does colon resect surgery result in blood in the urine?

Not directly: If there has been surgical trauma to a ureter or bladder there could be some blood in the urine, but the removal of all or part of the colon with re-anastamosis or stoma formation would not cause hematuria. Trauma from Foley placement could cause microscopic or even gross hematuria. Good luck.

No: Unless you had a Foley catheter placed for the surgery. Could be urinary tract infection.
