Yes: If this is a new condition it may be a fungal infection. These sometimes have a 'fuzzy' appearance. If it brushes off and does not come back in 24 hrs it is most likely from colored foods/drinks; think red wine, coffee. Please see your dentist/ent doctor asap.

Yes: Your tongue can turn black from a condition called black hairy tongue (sounds weird, huh). It's not really hairy...The taste buds get elongated and become pigmented from bacteria, food, and drinks. No treatment necessary other than clean the tongue with a toothbrush.
