Chips: I would wait at the least two days. I would be sure to rinse with salt water two to three times per day or more often to keep the area clean for good healing.

Post-op instructions: There is no specific number of days to wait. It depends upon so many factors. If you must, eat on the other side. The longer you wait, the less chance of problems. When your doctor sees you for a post-op visit, he\she can give you more specific information.
