A member asked:

How long does the igm antibody stay in your blood before it disappears?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Antibodies: This is a major class of antibody secreted into the blood in the early stages of primary response to the infection. The highest levels should be observed in the acute infection and then gradually subside. However, in human autoimmune disorders certain forms of igm could be consistently elevated. Certain abnormal igms (cryoglobulins) are associated with hematologic, autoimmune and chronic infection.
