should you take claritin and mucinex (guaifenesin) d together?

Ok together: Claritin is an antihistamine and Mucinex (guaifenesin) d contains a decongestant (d) and a mucolytic. These should be fine together, as long at the Claritin is plain and not Claritin d12 or Claritin d24.
