A member asked:

Is it ok to take mucinex (guaifenesin) and claritin d during my 2 week of pregnancy?

Some: You can use Mucinex (guaifenesin) and plain Claritin but not Claritin d. Anything with Pseudoephedrine is not ok during pregnancy. It is preferred to avoid all meds during the first 3 meds of pregnancy if possible. Use a saline spray to alleviate your nasal congestion instead.

No meds best: Plain Mucinex (guaifenesin) and plain Claritin are considered safe, no decongestants in the first trimester (some say all during pregnancy). However the less the better.
