What is fecal globin?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Blood in the stool: You are probably referring to a fecal (stool) hemoglobin test, which checks for microscopic blood in the stool, blood that you cannot see with your eyes. It is a colon cancer screening test, but it's not highly sensitive or specific. Get a colonoscopy when you're 50, or earlier if you have risk factors such as family history of colon cancer or personal history of polyps.
