Chronic Fracture: Vertebroplasty is a non-invasive procedure in which bone cement is injected into the vertebral body and is commonly done for osteoporotic compression fracture that did not respond to conservative management. Fracture: As mentioned, vertebral augmentation is an option in cases of compression fracture, usually performed in older patients, many of whom have osteoporosis. Bracing is another option. There are fractures, however, that are too severe to consider safe vertebral augmentation, and in that case, surgery should be considered.
