Few weeks: Each person is different & have differing degrees of infection from diverticulitis. One should start feeling better in a few days, but may take a few weeks to get back to a normal high fiber diet with normal bowel movements. Would need to wait some weeks for healing before considering colonoscopy too, if it is indicated for your condition.
